Well, I decided to stay off work last Tuesday. At least for a couple of days. I called in sick, and then inexplicably became sick! How lucky was that?

I'm feeling grumpy today, and here's why.

  • The travel situation has not improved. The coach driver took an extra 10 minutes for the short journey, meaning that I missed the only train for 40 minutes. Needless to say, I was very late for work, and I'll have to work it back now.

  • I forgot to clean out the bath. My sister is fastidious, bordering on obsessive compulsive disorder. She was extremely and vociferously unhappy.

  • I still haven't heard about my college application. It's starting to rub me up the wrong way. I HAVE to get on this course. My sanity depends on it.

  • Which reminds me, I've lost my student loan application form. It's due in on Friday, and I haven't seen it for a long time.

  • I've just typed out the whole entry over the space of an hour, switching between other programs, and it inexplicably disappeared, without even telling me.
There's more, but it's hard to type with my fists clenched...

Thank you so much for your comments; it's nice conversing with you as well. I appreciate your not getting too haughty with me, as is the usually the wont of most of most folks I talk to regarding this issue. I myself can be guilty of this from time to time as well.

You're right, we could go back and forth throwing websites at one another, which is of course, a rather Sisyphean endeavor. Still, something about your links worried me and I thought I'd point it out.

The first link was written by someone I've long considered a virulent anti-Semite and I'm not alone. See below:

Also, the Washington Report on Mid-East Affairs hates Israel, and has more then once claimed that anyone who supports it is complicit in mass murder. That would be me. That magazine called me a killer. (Of course no member of Hamas is called a murderer in its pages.)

The Indymedia one was even scarier, "Let's list every Jew linked to Bush that we can and then show how they’re trying to take over the world." That sounds like a mix of Elders of Zion haranguing and unadulterated McCarthyism to me. Come on Winston, didn't this site seem a little anti-Semitic to you?

I don't mean to be a pain here, and I'll let it drop after this post. I know you understand that the situation is very complex and no one can really ever get a “handle” on it, but I maintain colossal disappointment with the way the press, the European press in particular, and the BBC even more so, have covered it. Pay attention next time "auntie" runs a piece on Israel and tell me where you think the slant is. And of course, a slant there will invariably be.

Again, I apologize for taking up so much room here.

We can kick the universe together. That could work in relieving stress, and or burn calories.

Or we could kick the train people. Or just kick trains.
